Birmingham Violence Reduction Initiative

BGrace Media was hired by the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham in August 2016 to work with the Birmingham Violence Reduction Initiative.  BGM developed a communication and engagement strategy  that allowed the Foundation to tell their story more effectively. BGM leveraged social media to engage their target audience. We launched the Victory of Violence Tour as well as an anti-bullying tour in Birmingham City Schools.

VOV kicked off on February 18th. The Victory Over Violence Tour was a series of events in 5 key housing districts that often saw violence.


Changed the image of the organization and created a greater understanding of its mission.
Built social media following through various platforms.
Improved public perception of the BVRI through positive community engagement.
Raised the profile of the individuals involved and put a face to the facts.
Drowned out the negative with undeniable, positive truth of who and what the BVRI was.


Built Community and police relations.
Helped develop a committee for community engagement.
Positively changed the narrative around the BVRI.
Hosted community conversations.
Developed and Executed all graphic design work.
Created and managed all BVRI social media platforms.
